October event’s topic: Omni-channel

Omni-channel means embracing ALL the potential ways a customer may access the potential retailer, in store, web, mobile, social media, et al. and integrating the separate access methods into a seamless user experience. With that, the retailer can focus on their

brand identity, not on the transaction methodology.

Event Highlights

Avenue Code's premiere networking event, TECH TIME, finally happened Tuesday evening,

October 9th, at the Hub. Top-tier talent from various industries such as: retail, IT, and finance were in attendance. The room was packed and there was an air of excitement as individuals had the opportunity to mingle with fellow IT professionals. Here are some highlights from the event!

The MC of the event was the one of Avenue Code's outstanding employees and the president of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Project Management Institute Elaine Law, who opened the event with a welcome message. Then Cloud Evangelist, Jim Ash, from HP Cloud shared the reasons to migrate to a public cloud and future capabilities of HP’s public cloud. Avenue Code was pleased to have HP Cloud sponsor the event.

Soon after, Zeo Solomon gave a presentation on the Omni-channel.  His speech was inspiring and brought a comedic angle to the evening's event. Zeo's genius analogy of the "18th camel", --which implied that Omni-channel technology is a magical solution for frustrations caused by having multiple channels--was repeated throughout the rest of the event.

Zeo's presentation was the perfect segue into the panel discussion, which was moderated by Elaine Law. Avenue Code was honored to have a great set of panel guests: Kari Friedman, Chip Overstreet, and Lance Wills. They brought valuable experience and hands-on market insights to the table and updated the attendees on what retail stores have been doing with the integration of multiple channels of revenue steam.

There was great interest from the crowd in hearing the panel guests. Some of the audience members raised critical questions on how to integrate different channels seamlessly. Even after the 50 minute panel session, people lingered around to discuss more about the possibility of the new technology. From this, we can confidently say that Avenue Code's Tech Time ended successfully!

Hopefully you will join us next time.  The next Tech Time topic and date will be announced soon. For those who came, thank you very much. See you at the next Tech Time!
